Spend a great day skiing at Mt Bachelor just outside of Bend, Oregon and of course you’ll be sipping at a local brewpub afterwards. That’s what the countless articles and top 10 lists from publications around the country have been telling us, right? Who am I to prove them wrong? I wouldn’t do that! I went to GoodLife Brewing to enjoy their new release, Puffy Coat Porter. While it’s a porter, if no one had told me I would have thought I was drinking a stout. (How much of a difference is there really?) Anyway, it’s a dark smooth brew made with licorice, chicory and cherry bark and a very solid addition to a lineup of great beers at GoodLife. I enjoyed this with a plate of nachos which may not be the best pairing, but hey, they were good too! If you haven’t been to Century Center where GoodLife is located, you’re missing out. Century Center hosts some wonderful events such as the Deschutes County Search and Rescue Gear Sale, Subaru of Bend Outside Games and numerous concerts in the courtyard. Volcanic Vinyards, Volcanic Theatre Pub and of course, Fred Real Estate Group’s World Headquarters are also located there!
