Tumalo. It’s fun to say. It’s even more fun to visit. The small community just outside of Bend sports a coffee shop, an organic produce store, a food cart lot, wood-fired pizza, and a steak house. Venture outside of the small downtown, and you’ll find a scenic area of Central Oregon cradled between Sisters, Bend and Redmond with sprawling panoramic vistas of the Cascade Range. This greater Tumalo area is home to ranches, farms and acreage properties where people know the value of nature’s beauty and have room to breath it all in.
I’ve been fortunate to list a home in Tumalo that takes full advantage of the mesmerizing views. Even the laundry room and garage enjoy these beautiful vistas.
If you enjoy living the locavore life, Tumalo is the place, with grass-fed beef, pork, and poultry, fresh raw milk from a small dairy, and free range eggs from happy chickens in the backyard. Gardens and herbs grow well here too, pollinated by bees that yield great honey. A lavender farm and a gin distillery, along with hiking trails and biking byways make Tumalo a great place to enjoy the good life.
